Utrecht – When I left Århus that Friday I was sure that I could make it back to Utrecht in one day. ‘If I only can get out of the city then the last 700Km won’t be a problem at all’ I thought. Besides, I was experienced now! There was one thing that bothered [...]

Ring030: Hoe bereikbaar ben jij?

Europe and the world are rapidly changing. We can see examples of this in the credit crisis, the Arab spring and the fast change of the economic cycle. Major social issues seem to be stuck, in order to start moving towards more sustainable solutions a new value based approach is required.
The city tends to have a dominant role over villages and the countryside, who both feel unrecognized and oppose the city. Cities promote systems thinking; models and science, but we are now pushing the limits of our systems. We ask for the wisdom, values and experience of the countryside to come to a collective intelligence with which we can develop a new systems that fit the big global issues.
In this context the greater area of Utrecht is facing it’s own challenges that can’t be solved when opposing interests for the city and the countryside are assumed. An overall approach, based on connecting values through cultural and creative entrepreneurs, is needed out of which new solutions will emerge.
27th of October 2011 Århus – After dark I arrived in Århus, with the help of Pirr I got the caravan through several construction barricades. Famous enough to exist without any form of nameplate I started to explore several open doors, I knew I had to be really close to the KAOSPilots. At home, that’s [...]
25th of October, 2011 Århus – When I left Utrecht for my journey to Scandinavia I couldn’t have dreamt that I would end up at a place as beautiful as Skårva Farm. You might think it’s just a clear coincidence, but there is more. When I was on my way to Sweden I was dropped [...]
